Labor Day Weekend

Woohoo, we finally made it to my parents cabin this year.  Too bad it was our first and last visit of the season due to all of our upcoming busy schedules.  What a nice treat the weather was for the weekend.

We started the weekend off right with a trip to the water park in Dubuque.
This year Henry was big enough to ride down the tunnel slide with an adult on a double tube.  It was a fast and fun slide.  I screamed most of the way down every time.

All of the cousins waiting for the big drop!
Wait for it....
 SPLASH!!!
Henry had a hard time waiting for it each time.

Us adults thought it was funny that at one point all the cousins ended up in the hot tub.  Andy refused to get in the picture.  Henry said, "I'm 'rewaxing' in here."  Hahaha, what does he know about relaxing already?

Zack (11), George (9), Andy (6), Henry (4.5)
The only pic of all the boys together besides the quick minute Henry stopped to wait for the big splash.

We also enjoyed the lazy river and 2 other water slides at the water park.  Henry was really excited once he discovered he could go down the other 2 water slides all by himself.  Then it was hard to keep track of him, luckily this water park is a small one so he could never go too far.

On our way back from the water park we HAD to stop at Grandpa's.
Henry's shirt said, "That's it I'm going to Grandma's!"

I wonder what Uncle Joe and Henry were chatting about?  So cute!

After dinner we went for a nice cruise down river.

We even parked for a few minutes on a sandy shore.  Yes, I said, SAND!  It can be found on the banks of the mighty Mississippi River.  It's kind of hard to see but Henry wrote his name in the sand.

Captain Hank, taking us back to the cabin.

After the nice boat ride we got back just in time to start a camp fire.
Mmm...s'mores and singing....it was a fun camp fire.

Day 2
******************************************************************
Sunday morning started off with the joy of the bag swing...
Weeeeeee!

For lunch we went to Joe's favorite thing, the annual Pork Roast.  In addition to the delicious pork, Joe really looks forward to the German potato salad.  We all look forward to the dessert table.  We always give Papaw a hard time because every year he picks raisin pie for his dessert.  YUCK, what a rotten choice out of all the yummy options.
Henry clearly went for the biggest dessert this year, angel food cake!

Hahaha, it looks like our tree face grew a mustache this year!

Leave it to a chip break to bring all of the cousins together.

Henry had another first during this weekend, riding in a tube behind the boat.
After we got him in the tube and were putting out the rope Henry asked,
"Am I tied to the boat?"  Definitely!!!
 Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
 Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
A sign of a good time!

Aaaaahhh, back to the bag swinging to help dry off.

A classic truck magazine is a favorite bed time story for these two.

Thanks for the great weekend of fun!
Until next year!
