Last weekend we headed to Iowa for one of my (many) cousins wedding. More on that in the next (previous) post. This update is about some pre-wedding fun. We timed our departure from home just right so we could stop for lunch at Henry's favorite place, the Iowa 80 Truck Stop.
Henry and his favorite casual pose.
Henry is always curious how they get these big trucks inside.
They have changed the displays now so you can't sit inside of the cabs anymore, bummer!
Henry still enjoys touching them.
To my great dismay the old red truck that is over by the food court area was all covered up as it was being restored. We have taken Henry's picture by it once each year for the last 4 years. Maybe we'll get back again this year...
On Friday night we stayed at another cousin's house. Henry enjoys playing with their kids, Brenden and Rebecca. After dinner, we played some baseball in their backyard. Looks like Brenden and Henry could have used some sunglasses. Henry literally broke his sunglasses earlier in the day or he would have been wearing them.
Henry had been asking to play baseball for a few weeks now. Woohoo, we finally found some time to play.
Brenden and Henry slept in a tent on Friday night.
They had a spot ready for Becca but she was out late at a friends dance recital.
Henry was excited to sleep in a tent.
Saturday morning we all watched Brenden play a "real" baseball game. The kids change positions through the game and don't keep score. The game was at the baseball field that is literally in my cousins backyard. The rain held off until after Brenden's game. Henry had fun. He also enjoyed a concession stand treat. My cousin wonders how long it will take her kids to really figure out the perk of having a concession stand in their backyard. Hahaha, good point.
Time for lunch and to get ready for the wedding...
