PART TWO
On Sunday, we headed to Hollywood with the Buckley clan (minus Sean) to check out what all the buzz is in Hollywood. We met up with a couple of my good friends too. It was another SUNNY, beautiful day in southern California. We walked along the Walk of Fame and the area in front of the Grauman's Chinese theater.

There were characters from movies up and down the streets in this area. If you took a picture with them, they expected you to give them a couple dollars. Thanks Lisa, for letting us know about this.
"Watch out ladies, it's a danger zone!"
That's what this Maverick character kept saying as people walked by. It was pretty cheesy!
Henry and Bumblebee!
Mmm, every time you went in this store they gave you a free sample, a sea salt dark chocolate caramel square. We exited and entered a couple times. This was also one of the movie exits, mmm!
A little later we met up with Lisa (my best friend since Junior High) and Angela whom I've known since high school. Lisa suggested we see a movie at El Capitan theater in the VIP seats. Great idea considering how long the line was for general seating. We felt quite fancy walking right in and going right up stairs to our VIP seats. Our VIP seats were reserved seats and they included a small bucket of popcorn and a 20 oz drink. Henry chose orange pop...yes, he drank the whole thing, his first 20 oz pop, yikes!

After the movie, Henry went home with the Buckleys. This is when all the sugar from the orange pop kicked in. Benjamin and Henry were busy having sword fights in the back of the minivan.
Joe and I stayed the night at Lisa and Angela's apartment to enjoy some more fun in Hollywood!
We conned Lisa and Angela into going to Madame Tussauds with us, they had never been and we all had a great time. We even sweet talked the guy at the door into letting us in for the after 6 PM online prices, woohoo!

Benjamin read "Hot Rod Hamster" to Henry. Henry remembers this book whenever he sees the picture. Emma, I love the color on the walls in your bedroom!

Werths are still in Hollywood!
On Monday, Lisa played hooky from work and joined us in our visit to Universal Studios.
Lisa made us take the scenic route to get there, ie. we literally drove (I was the driver...and it was scary) in the Hollywood hills. A lot of twists and turns and steep hills.
The scenery in California really is so different then what we've seen all our life in the Midwest.

We got quite the hook up for our tickets to Universal Studios, thanks to my coworker's brother who is a Foreman on the tv show Parenthood and the new show About a Boy. He also got us in the FREE parking zone too. If the press hadn't been on set that week we could have had a personal tour of his sets. Bummer it didn't work out.

This was a water ride that Lisa swore she has never gotten wet on it the many times she has rode it. Yup, you guessed it we got wet at the very end of it. Luckily, the sun helped dry us pretty quickly.

We also really enjoyed the Studio Tour during our visit. We rode down Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives which was the same road/sets used for the movie, The Burbs and it was used on the Munsters tv show. The King Kong 360 3D portion of the tour was pretty cool.
We also went by this plane crash scene.
It was a neat tour.
Lisa and I waited in line for 30 minutes (our longest wait of the day) for this ride. All the rides are 3D special effects rides. Joe's stomach was a tad upset so he sat this one out. Right when it started Lisa and I looked at each other and agreed it was a good thing Joe didn't go on this one. It was really fun! It was like we really were on a rollercoaster ride through "Springfield".
Afterwards, we found Joe at Moe's. No wonder his stomach was upset.

We also went through the House of Horrors. It was pretty scary in some parts but we really enjoyed being behind the group in front of us. They literally screamed the whole time. A couple times one of the girls fell into my arms. It was great entertainment.

After our fun day at Universal we strolled down the streets of City Walk trying to decide what to do for dinner. We had dessert first since we couldn't pass up Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop.
We ended up going back to Lisa and Angela's apartment and ordering chinese. We were all tired from our long day and enjoyed hanging out and watching bad movies on TV, such as Police Academy.
Thanks, Lisa and Angela for letting us stay at your place Sunday night. It was great to finally see you in California! Now, we know why you like it there so much.
