More Fun at the Beach!

PART THREE
(time at the condo...continues)

We enjoyed our short 2.5 days at the condo.  On Wednesday morning, we went out for an early morning stroll (7 am-ish).  Our first night in California (at the Buckleys) Henry woke up at 5 AM.  At home it was wake up time.  Luckily, we got him to color quietly in the corner for a little while.  He adjusted well the rest of our time in California.

So relaxing!

Henry climbed a mini sand mountain.

See the little red dot...? That's Henry!

After Papaw and Nana woke up we went into town and ate at Mrs. Olsen's for breakfast.  After a very filling breakfast we stopped by the harbor and saw a seal and a dolphin.  The dolphin jumped out of the water twice, he was busy looking for some breakfast.

Henry couldn't wait any longer to play at the beach.

Daddy helped Henry build this sand castle.

We're lucky we got this picture.  It took a lot of convincing.  This was after Henry fell in the water trying to get some water in a bucket for his sand castle.  The towel was staying on!

To try and dry and warm up, Henry and Daddy went running on the beach.

On Wednesday night it was like Joe and I were back in highschool before we could drive...Papaw drove us to Golf 'N' Stuff in Ventura.

There were 2 mini golf courses but to our great dismay in the winter only 1 course is open at night. Oh, well we enjoyed this VERY challenging course.

***ATTENTION***NEWSFLASH***!!!

I BEAT Joe at this mini golf course and by more than 1 or 2 strokes too!  I beat Joe by 6 strokes! Woohoo!  I wanted to keep our scorecard and laminate it but it has mysteriously disappeared.  Papaw suspects Joe destroyed it.  Go figure, we often find old mini golf scorecards but I have yet to find this one.

After the beat down on the golf course, we went inside to use up our free snack and arcade tokens.

This game took 8 tokens or $2.00 but Joe had to try it as he is known as the, "claw master".  When Joe tried it he was concerned if we would have room to bring home the prize.  Hahaha, he had high hopes for himself.  To Joe's great dismay it was a terrible claw.  Boohoo!

Cedric, waiting for Papaw to pick us up in a funny looking short tree.

On our way home, we went to In-N-Out Burger.  What an odd restaurant.  It only has a few items on the menu such as a hamburger, a cheeseburger and fries.  The burger was good but the fries weren't that good.  Apparently, they have a lot of "Special Order" items such as "Well Done Fries" which Joe ordered.  They were super crispy, too crispy for me.  Alas, it was another item on our California checklist we had to try.

Thursday, February 13th

It was our last day at the condo.  Boohoo!  We enjoyed another day of bumming around the condo/beach.

We started our day with a visit to the really nice park which was a short stroll down from the condo.
On our way to the park we took the beach route.
Henry and Daddy being "chased" by the ocean.

Beautiful scenery for a kids park.

Our little monkey!

What a life, for two happy retirees.
This was an easy kite to fly.

Henry could even fly the kite laying down!

This was our last chance to walk in the ocean...
Such fun!

 Look at our WHITE feet!

Fun, fun, fun!

Below is a video that has sound and lines in it our from my ol' camera, nothing I can do about that.

Boohoo, the time has come for the Werths to leave Oxnard and head back to the Buckleys.

When we were leaving Oxnard, Henry said,
"There isn't anything like the ocean!"
Henry is right!
