Breakfast with Santa Fun!

This Saturday we had important reservations at 8 AM for Breakfast with Santa for our towns Holiday Celebration.  While we were parking we saw Santa arrive.  He didn't arrive in his sleigh, he arrived in style, in a fire truck.  Henry thought that was pretty cool.

We had pancakes, sausage, fruit, applesauce and O.J., mmm!

Henry, looking SNAZZY for SANTA!

Henry was surprised when Santa called him over by his name to sit on his lap.
Santa also said, he liked Henry's sweater.  We all agree it's a great sweater.
Henry told me, "it's a pretend tie" when he was getting dressed.

After a bit of silence, Henry finally told Santa what he wanted for Christmas,
"a cement mixer to go with his dump truck."

After seeing Santa, we enjoyed some other activities in the gym.

Henry making a special treat for the reindeer.

Henry also played some games, colored some pictures and we participated in a couple rounds of a cake walk.  Henry was mad that we weren't chosen to to pick out a cake.  Better luck next year.

After our fun in the gym we decided to check out the other activities at the grade school. On a regular day it would have been a nice short walk down the street but due to the freezing cold temperatures I decided it was best to move the car.  Henry had a different idea and as a result he and Daddy took off for a nice brisk stroll while I moved the car.

When I was driving down the street, I didn't see them walking.  I wondered where they were they couldn't have walked that fast.  Then I looked up and saw Joe waving wildly at me while Henry and him were taking a "sleigh ride" to the school in front of me.  Brrrr, it was still a very cold way to go.

Joe and the driver needed "Beardo"!
The driver was wearing snowpants but his cheeks were rosy red.

In the school gym they had lots of vendors selling crafts, baked goods, stained glass, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, 31 and more.  Kids could shop for presents but we passed up that idea.
We pictured something different for the "kids shopping" area.

We made a couple ornaments and gave up on one ornament, it had way to many little pieces that weren't sticking.  Henry thought this little ornament was funny since all you had to do was stamp it.

We were hoping to decorate cookies with Mrs. Claus but found out that wasn't until 1 - 3 PM.  All the flyers we received didn't list specific times so that was a bummer.  We had a birthday party to go to, plus we would have had to come back after lunch.

Overall it was a fun morning!  You can't beat a FREE picture with Santa.

  1. What a fun morning! Breakfast with Santa is one of those things you only get to do for a few years with kids. Sounds like all of you enjoyed every minute.
