Go Hawks!

Joe and I were lucky enough to get invited to the 2nd Blackhawks game of the season.  It's funny because Henry watched some of the first game with us and asked, "Why don't we ever go to a hockey game?"  Then a couple days later Joe and I got an invitation to go with our friends Marybeth and Jeff.  We knew we couldn't pass it up.  We didn't even tell Henry where we were going.  He thought we went to a party...shhhh!

We had great seats too.  We were in the 4th row at the end too, in the 200 level otherwise known as the Club Level seats.  The lines were very short or non-existent for concessions and the bathrooms.  Or you could order drinks from your seats but then you were expected to tip them.  Forget, that idea!

Wow, I had forgotten how BIG the United Center is you can definitely get seats that are super far away.

Our seats were not in a good spot to get a picture of the newest banner.  The beams made it quite challenging for anybody to get a good picture...with a cell phone camera anyways.

Marybeth and I being silly but of course!
The seats were Marybeth's bosses season ticket seats.

Thanks again for inviting us, Marybeth!  It was a fun game especially since the Blackhawks led most of the way.  We were up 2 to 0 for quite a while against the Tampa Bay Lightning.  Sadly, the game tied and the Blackhawks lost in the shootout (as Jeff had predicted).  Earlier, Jeff said if the game resulted in a shootout it would not be good for the Blackhawks since their goalie was not playing his best.  Good call, Jeff.  Boohoo, I really wanted to leave the stadium with a happy/cheering crowd.

We mentioned to Marybeth and Jeff how Henry wants to see a hockey game and they strongly agreed with Joe's idea of taking Henry to a Chicago Wolves game.  I believe Marybeth has already emailed me some available dates.  They said the games are very entertaining for young and old.

Stay tuned for that adventure...

  1. Hockey games are fun! I'm glad you guys were able to go. It is always more fun to win but at least they didn't get shut out.
