Look out there is a 4 year old in our house now!
We let Henry open one present before school on his actual birthday since Daddy had to work late (until 7) that night. We picked the perfect present for Henry to open before school.
Woohoo, a Sully backpack!
Yeah, a backpack that will fit all the goodies we often try to stuff in Henry's 1st (little) backpack.
We put a little Sully notebook with a pen inside the backpack. Henry was super excited to have his very own jounal and a click-y pen like one of Mommy's pens. The first thing Henry wrote in his journal without any help from me was Hermit Crab. It took up 2 pages and hermit took up 2 lines: "her" on one line then "mit" on the 2nd line. Henry's class at school has 2 pet Hermit Crabs, Frankie and Shiny. Now, we know where that idea came from.
After dinner Henry kept asking me if he could open one more present while we waited for Daddy. Luckily, Daddy came home just in time before I gave in to his demands.
Henry often asks why there aren't any Winnie the Pooh shows on TV.
We only see little shorts between shows.
We will anxiously await the release of Despicable Me 2, the version that the Minions say, "BiTo". When Henry was 2 he used to say "Bito" all the time. He even got many of his daycare classmates to say it with him.

Make a wish Henry!
Daddy gave Henry another roll of quarters for his "penny" bank.
We had a few more presents that were on the way so Henry's birthday celebration continued a couple days later. Hip hip hooray!
On Saturday morning, we had to go out to the garage to get Henry's BIG present!
Check out Henry's new wheels! Vroom, vroom...!
Henry calls his new wheels a motorcycle. It kind of looks like a chopper!
Joe and I both remember all the fun kids can have on a big wheel. Riding down hills and doing spin outs are the best.
Finally, Henry is ready to play in the rain now...
Henry has been asking for a couple of months now if he can play in the rain.
He's never had any rain gear so no worries anymore, thanks to his birthday presents.
On Saturday, it looked like it was going to rain all morning. We decided to try on his new rain gear and voila, it started raining a few minutes later, woohoo!
Henry was so excited to jump in the puddles.
We wonder if Henry will wear out his rain boots like cousin Andy does.
We have yet to get any hand-me-down rain boots.
Henry stayed up pretty late on Saturday night (we had to watch Despicable Me).
When Joe was putting Henry to bed he said, "Hey, Daddy it's 1,000 o'clock!"

What birthday fun!! Henry looks so grown up. You are in for a wonderful year. 4-year-olds see the world in such an enthusiastic and joyful way!
ReplyDeleteHenry you are on your way to being quite the amazing four year old. Fun, fun, fun! Looks like he will put his raincoat to good use. I like how his reflection shows up in the picture. Enjoy the big wheel. Zack was doing spin outs on ours soon after he got it. Six years later and it is still going strong and a favorite of all the boys.
ReplyDeleteI just love the rain gear. Looks like he's having a blast. He's looking so grown up.
