Weekend Fun!

Henry had a grand ol' time this weekend.  Our first stop on Saturday morning was at Papaw and Nana's.  Papaw was excited to show Henry his newest Classic Truck purchase...

A 1936 Ford.
Back to a yellow truck!  Now, maybe we won't miss Papaw's original classic truck purchase, a 1969 Bright Yellow Chevy truck so much.  Both of the Fords have very cool front ends and classic styles.

Papaw claims this is the truck he was looking for when he found his 1940 Ford Truck just over a year ago.  Two boys sitting in this truck, grinning ear to ear!

Papaw calls this a PROPER GARAGE!
Complete with a 1936 Ford and a 1940 Ford.
The 1940 Ford is for sale!  If anybody is interested let me know!

Papaw's latest "toy"!  Pretty cool.  Hopefully, I'll get a ride in this one!  Henry keeps reminding us that he has rode in the '40 Ford; when Papaw picked him up from school in it one day.

Whoa, neat-o!  The windshield opens up on this ol' truck.  Henry thought that was really cool.

After the fun in the truck it was time for Henry to go for a bike ride.
Henry was excited about wearing his Hawaiian shirt that day.  I was happy I got him to wear the shirt and his floppy hat!

Later, Henry and I headed to the library and the pet store.  Daddy was stuck at home working on work stuff.

Sunday we took Henry to his first baseball game, the Kane County Cougars a Single A team.  They are now an affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.

We met our next door neighbors at the game who have a 1.5 year old daughter, Lilly.  She was squealing when she saw the field.

The weather ended up being much warmer than those darn weathermen predicted but we still have a nice time.  We don't think Henry watched much of the game but that's okay.

One foul ball tried to take our neighbors out.  It did hit our friends hand very hard, OUCH!  Lilly was safe, scared and mad too since the excitement caused her to lose her 1st ever snowcone.

Henry enjoyed his 1st Dippin' Dots.
He picked the Rainbow flavor which tasted like sherbet.  It was a welcome cool treat.

The sign of a good time...or a lot of time in the sun.  We all came home and passed out for about an hour.  Henry fell asleep half way home too.  Woohoo, a successful transfer (we've only had 1 or maybe 2 of those with Henry.)  We left in the 7th inning.  The Cougars did end up winning in the 10th, 6-5.  Next year, we hope to go to a night game so we can enjoy the great fireworks too and be a bit more comfortable during the game.

  1. The trucks are super cool. Fun stuff for boys big and small. Glad he enjoyed the ball game too.
