On December 21st, Henry celebrated Christmas with his class at school. Henry knew I was coming and that Daddy couldn't make it. We surprised him when Papaw and I showed up to his party. When we walked in all the kids wished us a Merry Christmas! The theme was Christmas Around the World as his class has been studying how the holidays are celebrated around the world.
Henry's table!
Henry's eating jello with a fork. He did pretty good.
They had all kinds of treats to choose from. Henry shockingly picked cookies over a cupcake.
Henry's class singing the 12 Days of Christmas complete with acting too. Henry sat in his chair the entire time even while the other kids were acting out some parts. I got video of some of it but like Henry has commented it is a very long song. See the previous post to hear Henry's shortened version.
Now it was time for the Festival of Lights...aka...a dance party. See Henry in the green shirt, having a grand ol' time?
Papaw and I chatted with one of Henry's teachers, Ms. Sheraine quite a bit. She told us about the passports they made so the kids could get them stamped while they "traveled" around the world. At each country they made or received something to take home with them so they could remember their journey.
Later, Ms. Sheraine chatted with us some more about how Henry does in class. She said that Henry is a good eater, not picky at all. She said Henry and his buddy Tyler build pretty fancy things with wooden blocks. She also told us that Henry is very good at writing his name. Wow, we'll have to have him show us this at home. She also said Henry asks a lot of questions. Yes, we definitely knew this about Henry. Henry just told Joe the other day, "I talk all the time." He does! Hmm...I wonder where he gets that from...?
It was a fun little party. Papaw, we're glad you could come too.

What a nice party
ReplyDeleteHenry likes his dancing. It's always nice to hear comments from the teacher.
ReplyDeleteNo picture of Papaw and Henry at the party?
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas around the world must be a popular theme. Alex and Emma did that in kindergarten in Texas and Benjamin did it in kinder out here. Pretty fun stuff.
