Memorial Day Weekend Get Away!

Like most years, we went to the Hested cabin in Bellevue, Iowa for Memorial Day weekend. This year it was only Henry and I. It's always our first time at the cabin for the season. This year the Swayne's (Jalene's sister Jennie) joined us since they only live 5 hours away now.

Ahhh, the beloved Sky Chair. It's usually outside but Henry must have remembered it as he was quite excited to sit in it. The rest of the weekend Henry enjoyed sitting in it with Papaw or Grandma.


Snack time buddies. First, Andy sat down by this step then Henry came right over to join cousin Andy. For the rest of the weekend whenever Henry had a snack he would go and sit on this step, awe to too cute.


Henry likes the swing again. For awhile he didn't really want any part of swinging.


It was getting pretty warm outside and Henry had been swinging for awhile. He may have fallen asleep if we kept him in it a tad bit longer.


Check out the giant tower Henry built all by himself. Daddy was quite impressed when I showed him this picture.

Engineering-wise, it wasn't too sturdy since he built it on wheels!


Mmm...some of us arrived at Grandpa's Parlor via Papaw's ice cream boat. Either way we were all happy to enjoy some delicious ice cream on a hot, almost summer day.

Henry was happy to taste everybody's ice cream.
