We celebrated Henry's 1st Birthday party on 10/10/10 because we thought it was pretty darn cool to have your first birthday on that day.
Before Henry's party he got to open a big box from the Swayne's and inside was his FIRST...

...CAT TRACTOR!

It is a GINORMOUS tractor that did not look that big online! We're pretty sure this Cat tractor will be the first of many from Aunt Jennie and Papaw Hested!
We decided to have Henry's party outside of the house so we didn't have to even attempt to reduce the number of piles that keep appearing around our house!
So, off to the Colonial Cafe in St. Charles we went. The restaurant is best known for its ice cream treats such as a "Kitchen Sink" or an "O-o-o Oreo shake". It recently moved and now has a hip and new modern atmosphere to it.
Henry's Grandma came all the way from Ohio for his 1st birthday party! Here's Henry with both of his Grandma's!

We had a nice turn out of 27 guests that came to celebrate Henry's 1st birthday including his cousins that recently moved to Ohio. Nick, Zack, Henry & Alex.

We served appetizers and cake and ice cream but of course!

We stripped Henry down to his diaper which he wasn't to fond of at first...

...then it was cake time! (I love Zack's look in this pic, it looks like he is thinking "c'mon, Henry get into your cake or I will!")

Henry did not get into his cake like we thought (or hoped) he would.

He had to have some help...

...mmm good.

Later Henry enjoyed some ice cream too which he does really like.
Thanks to all who came and celebrated Henry's FIRST birthday with us. We hope you had fun.
Looks like an awesome time! I'll admit I'm relieved there are other kids that don't dive into their cakes. It make me feel a little better. Well done with the CAT tractor...raise that boy right!
ReplyDeleteNo cake diving from my boys either. Ice cream, yes. Cake, no. Wish we could have been there. Maybe next year we will. It won't be so far to drive. yay!
