The first week of November Henry had a short week due to Parent/Teacher conferences.
Joe took one day off and I took one day off to cover the short week.
Our first parent/teacher conference in the public school went well. Henry is adjusting well and excelling in his class.
On my day off with Henry, we started the day by going to the school book
fair. Henry bought 3 books with his own money. I only contributed $2.00.
He was quite happy with his new books. Our next stop was Aldi's and we
sat in the parking lot for 5 minutes so Henry could keep reading about
rocks and minerals.
After lunch Henry and I enjoyed the warm day and walked along the Batavia Riverwalk.
Henry was fascinated by the dam.
He read the signs about the history of the dam along the river walk.
Check out the really BIG leaf Henry found.
A couple of "gear heads", hard at work fixing an old sewing machine.
Lily (grey) still does not like Jimmy (even after 8 years) so this was a very odd encounter to see. We wonder what they were thinking?
My Dad, Russ (cousin Marsha's husband) and Joe at the Packers vs. Lions game on November 15th. Go Pack Go!
A great picture of Joe and my Dad. Thanks, Marsha for getting some great pictures.
Unfortunately, they didn't get to enjoy the excitement of a win.
Luckily, the weather was very nice, unseasonably warm. No winter gear was needed!
On November 21st, we received our first snow fall of the "season". Early snow before winter officially begins really confuses Henry. Our first "snow cake" or as Henry said, "we got more of a snow pancake".
We didn't get out in time to make a snowman (when the snow was more wet) so instead we built a pyramid.
For Thanksgiving this year we celebrated with The Swaynes again in St. Louis. We decided we needed a "do-over" since last year we all got sick for half the time. This year was a success except for all the rain. Thanksgiving Day was nice, we were outside with no coats on playing baseball.
The cousins: Henry, Zack, George, Andy and Mary
On Thanksgiving, we all made "I am thankful for..." place mats. It was fun to see how they all turned out.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Werths and the Swaynes!
Check out the super cute and yummy turkeys my friend at work made for all of us. The head was a whopper. Thanks, Gerry!
Lots of turkeys!
Mmm...Joe and I enjoyed a nice dinner out on Friday night. We went to The Shaved Duck in St. Louis. Yes, it is a restaurant/bar that Guy Fiery went to during an episode of "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. My sister's Joe strongly suggested that we order the Walnut and Brown Sugar Bacon appetizer. Mmm, thank you Joe for this encouragement. House cured bacon, served with pears & bleu cheese. I don't usually like bleu cheese but it was delicious with this appetizer. We had already enjoyed some and knew we had to take a picture so we would always remember it and so we could ("share" it with others)!!!
Cousin fun in a (super wet) leaf pile.
