Henry helped Papaw and Nana decorate their Christmas tree in early December. Henry learned about the history of many of their ornaments, including the ones Nana painted when she was 22 years old. Without any hesitation, Henry confirmed with Nana how many years ago that was. I'll keep you guessing as I won't be sharing Nana's age.
A job well done!
On December 5th, we enjoyed the afternoon at Blackberry Farm's "Holiday Express". We met up with some good friends from Henry's kindergarten class who go to a different school this year.
Henry, William and Aiden about to board the "Polar Express".
All aboard!
Henry and William awaiting the final outcome of the ice sculptor.
To warm up some and while the sculptor kept working away at his ice sculpture we went and visited Santa.
Looks good!
We ended our holiday fun with some crafts and snacks.
Funny side note: Joe grew a goatee (Henry requested a beard) at the request of Henry. A couple weeks later Henry asked Joe when he could get rid of his goatee. Henry said, "When it's done!" Hahaha!
Another beautiful sunset. Keep them coming!
I snapped this picture when I was leaving work one day.
Henry has been busy helping with Christmas cookies.
Mmm...Spritz cookies are soooooooo good, you can taste the butter!
Mmm, making and decorating sugar cookies is another favorite Christmas time tradition for us.
Henry's 1st grade class singing during their Holiday Concert. The concert included all of the first grade classes (3) and second grade classes (4) too. Each grade sang their songs separately.
Henry is in the front row in the red shirt.
Henry sang the whole time but he kept his arms at his side and didn't do any of the motions they learned. He practiced the actions at home but we're guessing maybe the BIG crowd may have thrown him off a tad. The girl on the end in the first row was very animated during most of their songs. She was moving and grooving (too bad this picture didn't capture any of her great actions) all over the place, she was great.
The first graders sang 6 songs: Peppermint Candy Cane, Joyous Hanukkah (this one is great, he may sing it for you if we see you during the holidays), Merry Christmas Little Hoo (this was a reading that included instruments), The Most Wonderful Day of the Year (Henry sings along with this one whenever he hears it now), Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Turn off That Nose (this song was a cute one that we had never heard before).

This past Sunday night, Henry was invited to a fancy Christmas dinner with Papaw and Nana. The night included: Cocktails (Henry enjoyed 3 kiddie cocktails, dinner (Henry ate most of the food for the adults), singing Christmas carols (Henry sang right along) and a visit from Santa.
Santa gave each kid a very special gift and a candy cane filled with Hershey Kisses.
Henry still doesn't like peppermint so this was another perfect treat.
WOW!!!!!
Henry's smile says it all!
Santa really knocked it out of the park with the gift he chose for Henry.
Henry has another pillow pet bear at home ("Big Beary") that he is always playing with. This new Packers bear has been named Roger. I thought Raji was a better name but I got out-voted.
Our first half of December has been exciting. We are really enjoying the un-seasonably warmer weather too. I'm okay with not having a white Christmas.
Woohoo, I'm officially all caught up with our blog now!
