Labor Day Weekend 2015

We had a fun filled Labor Day weekend this year.

On Saturday, we met up with some college friends for the afternoon. First, we met for lunch at Portillo's. Derek claims it was his 1st time eating at Portillo's. He's not from IL so I guess we can't give him too much of a hard time. After lunch, we headed out for some family fun at Funway. Wow, Joe and I had not been to Funway since our Junior High days. A lot has changed since we were there last. It truly is a Family Fun Center. The fun includes: arcades, indoor glow in the dark mini golf, laser tag, outdoor mini golf, bumper boats, go karts, bumper cars, bowling and what I remember most from our good ol' days, ROLLER SKATING!

Our chosen fun for the afternoon included:  the arcades, indoor mini golf and go karts

This 4 way air hockey was a hit.

We all had fun in the arcade section.
The games were all very reasonably priced for an arcade.

Skyler and Henry unknowingly racing against each other.

Skee ball is always a favorite. After all the fun in the arcade Henry and Skyler enjoyed picking out "treasures" with all the tickets that were collected from the arcade games.

Henry enjoyed his 1st tandem Go Kart ride with Daddy.

Vroom, vroom...Henry and Daddy lapped Mommy.

Jalene and Jen, college roommates (all 4 years) and still great friends.
Thank you ISU for putting us together.

The highlight of our day for Jennifer and I was taking pictures in the photo booth.
We did not pick out the border but we laughed hysterically once we noticed it.

We should have attempted to get a picture much earlier in the day, this was right before the Kohlhagen's hit the road. Yes, Skyler is much taller than Henry. Skyler is also a full year older than Henry and her Dad is 6'5" so she definitely has more height in her family then Henry does.

Sunday Festivities  included:

Celebrating Joe's Grandpa's 90th Birthday!

Shhh...it was a surprise birthday party for Grandpa.
The Werth family:
Ann and Hugh and Debbie (the oldest), Marcia (the youngest) and Steve (middle)

 Happy Birthday Grandpa!

 Happy Birthday Great Grandpa!

 Henry always enjoys a party.

Werth family grand kids and great grand kids

Go CUBS Go!

  2. Nice marriage photo. Ha! I can't believe Funway is nice. I'm not sure my brain can process that. I'll have to go next time we're up there. Super great pictures from Grandpa's party.
