Our favorite time of year has arrived! It's full of so many fun fall traditions.
We always miss picking apples with our friends Jonathan and Kelly.
Henry finally took a quick, fast ride on the Apple Train this year.
Mmm...the best part after picking apples is making all the yummy apple recipes. Henry was a good helper making apple crisp this year. The spiral cut/apple corer is the greatest helper. If you don't have one, I highly recommend getting one. It majorly cuts down on your apple recipe prep time.
Before I left for a business trip, we squeezed in another round of mini golf.
Henry is a budding "pro"!
My company's annual business conference (that I am heavily involved with in the planning/prep) was offsite this year, far away. On September 27th, (very early in the AM) we flew into Boston and then took an almost 2 hour ride to the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club in Harwich, MA (Cape Cod area).
It was a beautiful setting that was worth the extra travels to get there.
My room was in the Greenbrier cottage. It was on the top floor.
This was the view from my room. I had a nice little balcony too.
The view outside of our conference/meeting area.
BEAUTIFUL!
The resort was full of beautiful flowers and landscaping.
Our first night there, many of us stuck around long after dinner to see the blood moon/eclipse. It was totally worth it, clear skies too. Too bad I only had cell phone cameras to attempt to capture the moment. It still won't be forgotten for a long time.
Good morning Cape Cod!
A co-worker/friend and I got up early on Tuesday morning to see the sunrise. Tuesday morning was our last chance since the remaining 2 mornings of our stay were cloudy and filled with lots of rain.
My first time eating lobster.
I've tried lobster before but I've never had my own lobster. I wasn't the only one at my table who had never eaten lobster. Our Tuesday night dinner was quite a feast that included: lobster, bbq ribs, grilled chicken, clams, clam chowder ("chowda" as people in the area say it), salad, potatoes, corn bread and a variety of mini desserts. Mmm...the clam chowder was soooo good. Quite a few people commented, that they never eat clam chowder but they were eating the clam chowder we had all week at the resort.
Overall, the business conference was a huge success. Our arrival day and the first 2 days of the conference the weather was beautiful, sunny and 70's. The last 2 days the weather was gloomy and full of lots of rain. I have never seen/experienced the torrential down pours we had on Wednesday afternoon. Hurricane Joaquin was looming.
