August Cabin Visit

 ~ August 21 - 23, 2015 ~
Still catching up on my blogging!

We squeezed in a visit to my parents cabin the weekend after school started. It was our first visit (only went twice this summer) when Papaw-Nana were also there. Sadly, Joe could not join us since he had to work that Saturday.

Captain Hank taking us on an adventure.
During our boat ride we saw turtles, fish jumping and a bald eagle. We anchored at a sandy shore. Henry enjoyed exploring the beach and playing in the river.

Before more "play time" the boys had to get some work done!
Henry really took charge steering the lawn mower. Vroom, vroom!

Getting ready to go fishing.

    2 peas in a pod!
The "matching" shirts were not planned. No worries about me forgetting to pack Henry's floppy hat.
 Love this!!!
Too bad the fish weren't biting.

Bright and early on Sunday morning, Henry voluntarily went out to help clean up the branches Papaw was busily trimming from the trees. Neighbor Steve was ready to hire Henry to come help in his yard.
Back and forth Henry went still in his pj's, dragging branches to the fire pit. Once done trimming, Papaw and Henry put the remaining branches in a pile and they dragged all of them to the fire pit with the lawn mower.

Look who Henry rescued from the shower on Sunday morning, Mr. Squeaks! Hehehe. Nana squealed and came back up BEFORE her shower strongly urging that somebody get downstairs and get rid of the toad in the shower. Papaw and Henry found Mr. Squeaks in the basement on Saturday and put him back out in the yard. Guess it didn't take Mr. Squeaks long to find his way back "home". Henry named him Mr. Squeaks because when he picked him up he made all kinds of little squeaky noises. Who knew a toad squeaked?

Our weekend visit would not be complete without an "ice cream boat" ride to Grandpa's Parlour. Joe missed out on the "ice cream boat" again; he has never been, better luck next year Joe.
Henry definitely earned his ice cream cone!
Thank you Papaw and Nana for a great weekend. Time flies by too quickly at the river.
We hope to make time for a couple more visits next year.
