Waddle Time!

After missing last years IL Basset Waddle we headed back down to Dwight with Kelly and Jonathan to watch the waddle this year. We like to get there early so we can wander around and see some of the Bassets dressed in costumes.

AWESOME!

The theme this year was "There's no place like home."

Senior bassets ride in wagons that are usually heavily decorated!

After Henry saw this basset he really wanted a banana. Henry was kind of a grouch until the actual waddle. So, before the waddle we walked to the little grocery store, that was right next store and got Henry a banana and we got some drinks.

Check out this set-up.
This will be us some day...except we won't have 3 basset hounds but we will want all that shade. This was one of the first years we have been and it wasn't too HOT. The weather was just right!

Kelly decided basset hounds are perfect dogs for hats since they have little flat parts on top of their heads to keep a hat on. Hence, why we saw many bassets with hats on.
Waiting for the Waddle to begin....

Let the Waddle begin.

This year's special addition was a skate boarding bull dog.
I got a good video of him in action too.

A parade wouldn't be complete without a King & Queen.

Love it!

Bassets in action...look at those long ears!

We picked a great spot to watch the Waddle. Many of the Bassets waddled over so we could pet them.

Alright, go PACKERS!

It was fun having friends with us at the Waddle, so they could get pictures of us all enjoying the Waddle.

Thanks again for taking great pictures Kelly & Jonathan.
Jonathan did make it back home in time to watch the Steelers game.

There goes the waddlers!

The Werth's at the Waddle!

A couple stragglers!

 Woof, woof, woof!

  1. This still cracks me up every time I see the pictures. A little slice of Americana. The skate boarding bulldog is a hoot too! What fun. You guys get out and enjoy life.
