Trains, Animals, and Slides, Oh My!

A few weeks ago we met our friends at Two Toot's for lunch in Glen Ellyn. It's a restaurant that brings out your food via a little train that runs around the whole restaurant. We think Henry was most surprised about seeing a little train in action.

Giddy up, neigh!

For dessert Henry and Liam had train whistle cupcakes. Henry dove right into his cupcake, mmmm...

Liam was a little more cautious about eating his cupcake.

Hank, Train Conductor. All aboard!

Last weekend we went to Phillips Park, a park district zoo & park in Aurora. There was a beautiful sunken garden in the front of the park.

Henry was too busy saying "pool" to look at the camera.

There weren't as many animals as we had hoped and they were kind of hard to see behind all the fencing.

Checking out the Mt. Lion. Check out Henry's lion overalls. Aren't they super cute?

There was a huge playground in a wooded area that was quite fun for the kids. They had several different play areas for kids of many ages. Henry loves to go down slides lately. He always starts really far back and then has to scooch up alot before he even gets to the top of the slide.

Weeeeeeeeeeeee!

Hahaha, look at what most slides do to Henry's hair!

Earlier this week, on a beautiful day, Henry and I went to the Morton Arboretum with Papaw and Nana H.

Another train ride!
We took a ride on the train that took us on a tour throughout the massive grounds and gardens they have there. Henry did really well on the hour long train ride. He started getting "chatty" and a little bit restless towards the end. Not bad at all for an almost 2 year old.
After the train ride, Henry was happy to literally run over and show Papaw and Nana the totally awesome Children's Garden they have there. Of course Henry found a slide!

I'll end this post with a super happy picture of Henry!

  1. Two Toots looks like lots of fun, we may have to try it sometime. Fun stuff for the little man, isn't it cool when they can start getting around and enjoy the playgrounds?
