Kids Fitness Fair

On Saturday, February 22nd Henry and I (Joe had to work, boohoo) stumbled upon a Kids Fitness Fair at a local park district.  What a great FREE event it ended up being for kids especially since they have been cooped up inside most of this winter!

Henry really enjoyed the parachute action.

A couple times when the beach balls escaped, Henry would look around worried, leave his post and  run over real fast and rescue them, then run back real fast to get back in his spot.

There were a few jumpy's too.

We waited in line a long time for this and he only got 3 chances to throw a bean bag in a basketball hoop.  Bigger kids threw basketballs.  I thought Henry looked like a mini transformer or something in this "get-up".  Later, Henry said he didn't like the basketball activity even though he really enjoys basketball.  I agree it was a long wait for not a lot of chances when it was your turn.

Go Henry GO!

We also played volleyball with beach balls.  Henry really enjoyed this section as I had to almost literally drag him away.

There was a DJ and a few entertainers such as a magician and a juggler.  Henry really enjoyed the juggler.  We couldn't leave until that show was over.  There were also quite a few booths set up with park district information, upcoming activities and other sport specialty camps, etc.

FREE winter fun is the best!

Henry is now writing his first and last name at school.
I like when he runs out of room and then has to start a 2nd line.
