I changed the backgroud of our blog in hopes of tricking our brains into thinking warmer thoughts. I hope it works!
Wow, winter really has arrived! As I sit here the wind is howling outside, the snow is blowing and the temperature is dropping drastically. Yikes, it is a nasty winter so far...and it's only the 5th day of January, eeeek!
My family always likes to see how much snow we all have by sharing pictures of our patios. My Dad calls the snow on the table a "snow cake". It usually is a good place to measure the amount of snow. As of this morning we had 8.5" of snow and more was falling. My sister out in Valencia, CA was so kind to send us a picture of her patio this morning...hahaha!
Too bad it's been way to cold to play outside and enjoy the snow.
Henry has been keeping busy inside...
Henry enjoying Fritz and Cardinal's company. Can you tell who's Furby is Joe's and who's is Henry's? Henry told us he named his Cardinal since he is mostly red.
Furby fun at the Fricke's! Henry was excited to bring our Furby's over to play with Liam's Daddy's original Furby. They have changed quite a bit. The newer ones are quite loud and very animated.
We were hoping it would be "warm" enough to go sledding at Liam's house but alas, this winter is not really cooperating much. Liam's house is on a hill so they have a great sledding spot right in there yard. We will try again later...!
This was the first drawing Henry drew on his new art easel. He called it a "Rocket Bus". Later he called it a "Rocket Bus Airplane". Not bad. On the outside of the box for the easel it showed a boy drawing a rocket. Henry couldn't wait to draw his own rocket.
Wow, cool check out Henry's new wall tracks.
Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Werth!
For those of you wondering, like my engineer Dad, the tracks come with Command Strips. That is how it sticks to the wall and it won't ruin the wall either, woohoo! The green parts in the middle rotate and grab the car and releases it on different parts of the track. So, cool. It takes two D batteries, those are the really big ones. Henry had to try out many other cars on the track besides the one matchbox car it came with. They don't all work but a few others do. Such fun!
Did anybody get one of these in their stocking? Wow! I had to take a pic and share it with a friend at work who loves Snickers. I should have taken a picture of the total calories for this entire ginormous candy bar. A few of us thought it would be funny to get a couple of these and put it in a kids Halloween bucket. Too bad it had a Christmas ribbon on it. It cost $9.99. I didn't buy it.
We hope everybody around here stays warm and safe!

Nice artwork Henry! I have not seen a slice and share Snickers. That would be hilarious to do for Halloween, you're right. We have no Furbys so you'll have to show us how they work next time we're in town.
