The week before Halloween Henry's school had Trick or Trunk again. This year we learned it is best to get there right when it starts since not too many people had candy left when we got there, about 45 minutes after it started. It was supposed to last for 2 hours.
Henry was a shark this year.
Henry says he was a "land shark" not an "ocean shark".
He was going to be a gnome but we ran out of time to complete that costume. Luckily, I found another awesome Old Navy costume for only $8.50 at a kids resale shop, woohoo! It looked like it had never been worn. These costumes are great because they are 2 pieces and they are very warm. Henry thought the big feet were funny. The inside of the hood was all red too. We may see this one again next year as it is a 4T/5T costume. If he was the gnome he would have had one very soggy beard and he would have had to wear a coat.
There weren't many cars this year for Trick or Trunk.
Henry was excited, he kept telling us he was going to, Trick or Trunk in peoples engines, hahaha!
They did have candy in both of the buses (short ones) this year.
Henry's class won the pumpkin decorating contest. This one is very cool but I must admit I voted for the 3rd place winner...
...Mike Wazowski! The 2nd place winner's pumpkin was very artistic, it's kind of hard to tell in this picture.
Henry kept asking us when we were going to carve his pumpkin and rightfully so since we were kind of late carving it this year.
I told Joe he's lucky that we only carve one pumpkin.
Henry, "Frank" and Joe
This year I actually roasted the pumpkin seeds. When I gave Henry some he said, "Hey, these are like sunflower seeds but bigger." Then he said, "How long do you have to chew them before you can swallow?" Ha, that is so true pumpkin seeds are definitely good roughage.
On Hallowen, I decided at the very last minute to dress up at work (nobody really does, there were only 3 of us this year). I had to buy batteries on my way to work for my costume...
Trick or Treat!
I freaked out a few co-workers when I popped out at them and yelled Trick or Treat! I think it was my Packers treat bag, hahaha! I made the rounds in my office which included walking through the production floor to get back to the warehouse. I sent an email out to our outside sales team so they wouldn't miss out on the fun. At one point, I had to deflate myself for a conference call I was on with another co-worker. I only worked a half day but it was definitely a fun morning.
I really wasn't going to wear my costume Trick or Treating but then I thought why not? We have to go out with Henry anyways and since it was a rainy night I stayed completely dry in my costume.
As usual, we didn't trick or treat in our neighborhood.
On our way over to Joe's Aunt Debbie's house where we were going to trick or treat we saw this...
A big beautiful rainbow. It was so bright and there was a double rainbow for a brief minute. I made Joe pull over so I could get a "good" pic. It was still impossible to get it all in one pic. This was by far the best rainbow Joe and I have ever seen. What a treat for Henry. We were happy to see the sun come out, too bad it didn't last long.
I'm not sure who had more fun trick or treating? I made quite a few homeowners chuckle as they opened their door. First, they would see Henry and then they looked up or back at me and laughed and laughed. Other kids and trick or treaters were quite entertained too.
Aunt Debbie and her dog Reggie, the devil joined us for a little while until it started raining really hard. A group of young teenage girls saw me and wanted to know if I could do some crazy dance. All I did was jump and shuffle my feet a bit and they loved it. They said, I made their night.

You have gotten a lot of mileage out of the "pig" costume. For that matter, so have I. Looks like a fun Halloween in spite of the rain.

ReplyDeleteLove the shark. I bet your coworkers were quite surprised to work with a pig. Totally awesome.
