Henry's FIRST Wedding!

Henry went to his first wedding. One of my cousins, the same cousin who 5 years ago told my family to really enjoy the weddings (3) that year because the next one wouldn't be for at least 5 years. Well, he was right. We were going through a wedding drought. We were all ready to DANCE and have a good time!

Before we went to the wedding though we stopped to visit with Great Grandma Scherbring and some cousins on the other side of my family. Henry finally got to ride the carousel in Story City, IA. He loved it!

First, Henry rode a ROOSTER:

Next, he picked a PIG:

For his last ride, Henry picked a DOG:
Yup, Henry rode the carousel 3 times and never rode a HORSE!
I also took a short little video that Henry really enjoys watching over and over again but I'm sure you don't really want to see it.

Here's cousin Mary, now 10 months old!

Saturday afternoon arrived and our family wedding drought ended, woohoo. Henry only made it through the first 15 minutes of the ceremony. Well the wedding started a tad late so he would have made it through most of it. Henry started singing his ABC's quite loudly so Joe and Henry disappeared to the lobby for the rest of the ceremony.

Congrats to Kimberly and Trent (my cousin) Powers!

Henry chatting with Great Grandma Powers.

Once the dance started and the DJ turned on all the lights, Henry ran out on the floor and looked like a cat chasing the lights. It was funny, he tried to stomp on them and everything. Everybody could see him since it was just the bride and groom, bride & Dad, Groom & Mom dances they do at the beginning.

Henry has been practicing his dance moves all summer. He was super excited to finally dance.

Henry even danced with the bride! He was quite shy about it.

Having a good ol' time with Aunt Nancy.
A great looking bunch of YMCA people, ay?

Henry had a good time with Nana too.

Poor Papaw strained his Achilles in his right ankle. We all missed having him boogie out on the dance floor with us. He's having surgery on it this week and then the recovery will really begin.

Papaw was happy to hold Mary.

Henry must have really enjoyed his first wedding. FIVE days later, after his bath and before bed he started singing "Single Legs". We didn't get it at first but then we caught on. This was the last song we heard before we left the reception. Wow! He won't let us correct him to sing "Single Ladies". We're trying to get him to add the oh-uh-oh part too.

Henry really enjoyed playing with my cousins kids (Rebekah and Brenden) in their new recently finished basement. Henry commented to Daddy that Bekah is nice and cute. Henry and I were both excited to find a big toybox filled with a Thomas the train set.
