Summer Trip to Ohio!

Last weekend we had a nice long weekend trip to Vermilion, Ohio to visit Joe's family.

Henry's favorite part: THE BEACH

He loved every minute of it!

We went to the beach on Saturday morning before it got too hot.

Henry loved the water and the sand, such fun!

The beach truly wiped Henry out, he took a 3 hour nap.

Then we went out to dinner and headed back to the beach for a nice evening stroll.

Sunday we were sad to wake up and see that it was a rainy and gloomy day. We tried to go to a car show twice but got rained out both times. It was raining pretty hard on and off. We saw some cars leaving the show while we attempted to wait out the rain.  After Henry's nap, Joe and I did squeeze in some time to walk around the quaint little town of Vermilion with Henry, before getting rained on again.

Sunday night Henry was quite distracted at dinner once his cousins got back into town and came walking in. They were all so happy to see each other. It didn't take long for them to start running around.

Monday we went back to the beach, this time with the Werth cousins. Too bad the waves were quite large since it was super windy. Oh well, the boys had just as much fun playing in the sand and sitting on the edge of the water.

Hahaha, we thought Henry had a tan! He does have a sandal tan.

After dinner on Monday we went out for ice cream and to watch the sunset over Lake Erie.

Henry enjoyed his orange sherbet vanilla baby cone! It only cost 50 cents!

A few misc. tid bits:
- In addition to officially jumping, Henry has learned to skip now. He goes skipping right on by then goes right back to running or vice versa.
- Since Henry has a tiny little button nose he has quickly learned to "fix" his sunglasses everytime they slip down his nose, which is quite often.
- Grandma Connie had some Guava Mango juice. One morning I said, "mmm, guava mango juice". Henry quickly repeated what I said. It was so funny. Everybody got a kick out of it especially Henry's cousins. We often heard them ask Henry to say, "guava mango" which he says very quickly and with a big smile.
- Henry often walked around saying, "pool" while we were in Ohio. He always wanted to go back to the beach.
- We've been trying to get Henry to say "book" for awhile he still won't say it but he did say, "library" right after we told him we were going to the library in Vermilion one morning. What a stinker.
- Over the weekend Henry really mastered going up and down the stairs at his grandparents house all by himself (they were smaller staircases with 6 or 7 stairs per set in a split level house). Now, at home he climbs our big staircase rather quickly, using the wall to steady himself.
