Today bothers Henry. It's a hard concept to have one extra day every 4 years. He seems to be most bothered by people who are born on Leap Days. Awhile ago he mentioned that he would have an extra day of 1st Grade this year due to Leap year.
We've been keeping busy in the heart of winter around here.
Henry enjoyed Valentines Day at school this year. This year was the first year he actually had to write out classmates names on the Valentines. The only ones he picked out specific cards for were for the twin girls in his class. He made sure to give each of them a card that had 2 animals on it, cute. Since nothing edible is allowed we included fun straws with his Valentines Day cards. He came home with a lot of tattoos and a few more pencils.
We enrolled Henry in swimming lessons. He loves them. We take the class on a week night which keeps our weekends open...until baseball starts. It's a 30 minute class with 4 kids at the most in one class.
Henry took inventory of his vehicles again. He did this last year in February too. I'm sure we have over 200 vehicles but this is how many we found this year inside of the house. Yikes! We've hardly given him any new cars since last year yet he has gathered 50 more vehicles. Many of the new additions are Lego creations and he included tractors this year too.
Henry loves to read. He's really into reading non-fiction books now. Here he is reading a book with 1,000 fun facts about anything and everything. Some of Henry's "guys" have joined him to learn new facts too.
Henry and I enjoyed some of an unseasonably warm day at the Batavia Riverwalk. Mother Nature has teased us a few times this month with warm, sunny days in the 50's or low 60's. Come on Spring!!!
Henry was happy to see his Lego creation that he made during the Science and Art Fair (a couple weeks earlier) in the display case at the Batavia Library.
Joe and I found this answer quite comical since it is a question regarding "Community Helpers".
This past Saturday we all really enjoyed going to see STOMP at the
Paramount Theater in Aurora. It was a great show. We all laughed throughout the show and Henry really enjoyed the clapping and finger snapping audience interactions. He says he didn't have a favorite part since he loved the entire show. We highly suggest seeing STOMP if you get a chance. I saw them in college too when they came to my university.
It's kind of hard to see the actual stage setup but the theater is a really neat, old theater. There aren't really any bad seats either.
Below is Henry's summary of STOMP. First, he wrote about the show in his journal and then I told him I would include his summary on the blog. Henry typed the following up (we didn't make any corrections):
Here`s what Henry
thinks about stomp. Today I went to stomp. I like stomp because they are noisy.
They use other things besides musical instruments to make music. There was
twelve people, they picked on one and another was really silly. There was
really only eight of them per show. They used brooms, drum sticks and cans,
flash lights and that's all I can think of. They were loud, great, awesome and
fun, cool and that`s all.

Misc. computer related tidbits...
Recently, I told Henry I was going to "copy and paste" something into a document on the computer and Henry said, "I don't see any glue and the paper is not sticky." Hahaha.
Awhile ago, Henry watched me print something from the computer and he wondered how that worked. He asked how what I printed stayed on the computer screen. Aw, so much to learn!
