Or Snow-Palooza, Snow-Mania, or just plain ol' Blizzard of 2011..call it whatever you want, but dang it sure was nasty outside on Tuesday night! Joe saw lightening and some heard thunder and the wind was whipping up lots of cool snow drifts for all of us to wake up to on Wednesday morning.

Joe still wasn't sure if his office would be closed until he woke up and saw the blizzard aftermath at our house. Nobody was going anywhere, anytime soon.
Our front porch should win a prize for some really neat snow drifts! Our next door neighbor called and she really wanted to go outside to get some pictures of us playing in the snow!

I can't remember the last time I made a snow angel!

A nice morning for some hot tea on the patio!

Later, after our street/driveways were plowed, we went back out to get some more pictures BUT with Henry this time!

Henry enjoyed watching them plow our driveways from his bedroom window. He even waved at the guy in the bobcat.

When it warms up we hope to take Henry out again to play or maybe to go for a short sleigh ride. He didn't seem to mind the snow and we even got a few smiles!

Too bad this snow is not good snowman building snow.

We never heard an offical snow measurement for us but Yorkville got 17 inches. Not sure how accurate these measurements are with all the drifting snow.
Thanks Deb, for talking us into coming outside to enjoy the snow!
Love these pictures, gives a good perspective on how much snow there is out there! My boys think the snow mountain is awesome. Snowpocalyspe is right!
ReplyDeleteIt was so much fun! I am glad you guys decided to come out and play--LOL! Henry was just too darn cute sit'n on top of that snow mound!
